PhD winter conference - Review Process

Step-by-step procedure:

  1. Every student attending the conference submits paper
  2. Each PhD student taking the 'Scientific Communication' course shall read three papers and write reviews.
  3. Each PhD student NOT taking the course shall read a single paper and discuss it with a PhD student taking the course together with a senior.
    • If the PhD student NOT taking the course also writes a review and hand in to the senior this could give credits to the course (if he or she is taking the course later) or if he/she discuss it with supervisor.
  4. Discussion of the papers/reviews:
Attendances: 1 student taking SC course (3 papers+3 reviews) + 3 students not taking course (each one paper) + seniour (3 papers+3 reviews)
Pseudo-code for the review-process:
  • 'Student taking SC course' (S) reads paper A, B and C and writes review RA, RB and RC.
  • The senior reads A, B, C, RA, RB and RC.
  • Three other students denoted X, Y and Z not taking the course reads either A, B or C (only one paper).
  • S, the senior, X, Y and Z meet up and discuss the reviews and the papers.

At the end of the process the group should fill in the report: http://www2.hh.se/staff/vero/cc/form1.pdf
